When a hockey coach's flirty move meets a curvy girl's bold play, it's game on for a heartwarming Christmas romance that no one saw coming.

Hockey Coach Mike Côte is used to game-winning plays, but when he locks eyes with Brandi, he’s completely unprepared for the wild, heart-racing rush that follows. One flirtatious smile, a few slick moves, and suddenly he’s caught up in a whirlwind he never saw coming.

Brandi’s been crushing on Coach from the safety of her TV for as long as she can remember. She never imagined she'd actually get the chance to meet him, let alone flirt with him. But when Mike gives her that devil-may-care grin and asks her to text him, it’s official: Game on.

Get ready, Coach—this Christmas, she’s taking the shot. But will it be enough to win his heart?

For anyone who’s ever wondered if life has passed them by or feared it’s too late, here’s a Christmas short story that proves age is just a number when it comes to love. Get ready for a sweet hockey romance complete with a festive happily-ever-after that is heartwarming.

I discovered Ginny Sterling, when I read the first book in her hockey series Pucks and Promises. (Definitely a review for later.) What made me like her writing was that she made me believe that love at first sight and insta love were real.

This short novella is spectacular as it resonates as being both a fantastical Great American Family/Hallmark Christmas and rooted in reality. They were a gorgeous older couple and while they did talk about their age and how it could potentially limit things like children, families, happily ever afters when taking care of aging parents, the tone felt light, but not dismissive of these topics. These weren’t bitter 40 year old folks.

I felt I had my own personal Christmas movie as it captured magical element of Christmas, the swoony moments, the no drama, the wanting and yearning for more- you wanted this couple to get their happily ever after.

Best part? Because they were in their 40s Sterling made it a point for the characters to not have unnecessary drama and they pretty much were forward about what they wanted early on without playing games.

It’s a very sweet and short story and one I’m happily going to reread next Christmas season.
